Over the past two weeks, Referee Abroad has hosted tournaments in four different European countries: Spain, Portugal, France and Greece.
Our international refereeing family was as international as ever, with officials joining our tournaments from more than 20 different countries.
We were particularly proud to welcome to our events (and family) referees from two new European countries that had never been represented at our tournaments before: Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iceland.
Eldar Avdibasic and Malik Sehic represented the Bosnian FA at the Elite Neon Cup, which was held in Athens, Greece. They were also appointed to the main final, in the Under 16s age category.
Hafþór Bjartur Sveinsson and Arnþór Helgi Gíslason were instead the representatives of the Icelandic FA at the IberCup Cascais in Portugal.
With the addition of these two countries, Referee Abroad has proudly welcomed to its tournaments referees from a total of 71 different countries, many of whom keep coming back year after year.
Here’s a map of countries whose referees have attended Referee Abroad tournaments in the past few years.
