Our Programs
Over the past few years, the focus of Referee been on referee development, and offering all our referees the opportunities to improve as match officials. In 2017 we created our Referee Academy, which has quickly become of Europe’s top refereeing training programs, thanks to the work of committed individuals within the professional games. Thanks to the great feedback received for this program, we have decided to expand the means of our development programs to include even more referees, and this is why we started our development group in 2019 and are starting a range of new programs in 2022. The Referee Academy
Our flagship program sees 16 referees selected from hundreds of applicants every year take part into a development program run by referee coaches and developers from FIFA and UEFA. A week of intensive referee training, while refereeing in Spain, preceded and followed by on-line development activities such as webinars and training sessions. Our goal is to help prepare the national referees of tomorrow.

The Development Group – Europe
The Development group is a referee development program focused on younger up-and-coming referees who want to received feedback and support in developing as match officials, while preparing for a potential inclusion in one of the future editions of our Referee Academy. It is seen as “Level 2” of our Academy framework.

The Development Group – USA
In partnership with US Officials, America’s leading assignors and referee development platform, we offer the opportunity to take part to the “US Officials Referee Academy”, taking place every year at the end of May in Rhode Island. Interested in a 4 days intensive development week?

The Girls Academy – USA
Female football (or soccer) has reached very high levels of quality in the USA. As such, elite female referees are required, and many programs have started across the country to develop them. In partnership with US Officials, we offer our female officials the opportunity of taking part into multiple Academy events in the USA.
