A Covid-19 update

Dear Referees,

We hope you are safe and well.

We would like to provide you with a brief update on our 2021 tournaments as things stand.

As many countries are still battling this horrible virus, the world’s priority is rightly on ending the pandemic so that our lives can go back to normal. The news of approved vaccinations, with more on the way, is light at the end of what has been a very long and dark tunnel.

Football is however still at a red light in many countries. Likewise, tournaments still don’t have an official restart date.

We remain confident that our summer tournaments, albeit smaller in size and pace, will go ahead – but we are unable to officially confirm that for the moment. Applications are open on our website but we have decided that we will not confirm referees for any event until we have the absolute certainty that the tournament will be go ahead. Still, we encourage you to apply, if interested, as we will give priority to those who apply early.

It has been fantastic to see so many of you applying, and hence supporting Referee Abroad.

Many of you have received vouchers from us from tournaments due to take place in 2020. We are happy to confirm that these vouchers will extend also into 2022 for those of you who don’t feel confident travelling to tournaments this year.

We are confident we will be able to meet again on a football field very soon. In the meantime, mask up, practice social distancing and above all, stay safe!
