Sun, sea, pine forests: the Amfora Cup is the right place for referees looking for a tournament in a relaxed environment!
The sports and holiday resort Zelena Laguna is located near the seaside resort of Porec. This is where many professional teams, and previously even the national Croatian team, come for their annual training camp. During Pentecost, the sports complex becomes the main location for the Amfora Cup and is fully reserved for the youth of Europe.
Tournaments Abroad will be working with the Amfora Cup for the 3rd consecutive year, and are looking to send 15 referees for this brief and relaxing tournament on the beautiful Croatian seaside.
The Amfora Cup is organised by NK Veli Vrh in collaboration with the Istrian Football Association and the community of Poreč.
Referees of all ages and levels are welcome to apply for the Amfora Cup.
All referees selected will have to pay for their travel to/from Porec, and a small participation fee listed in the main tournament information. They will referee 3 or 4 games per day, and have lots of free time to enjoy Porec, the beaches and the surrounding area.
They will also receive free accommodation from May 18th to May 21st in Hotel Delfin in Porec, and full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during the tournament days.
Located about 50 m from a pebbly and rocky beach, Hotel Delfin is a 3-stars establishment surrounded with lush greenery and offers an outdoor saltwater swimming pool, as well as a sun terrace equipped with sun loungers. Free WiFi is provided in the lobby.
The bright rooms all include a telephone and provide a private bathroom fitted with a shower. Some rooms come with a furnished balcony.

Istria is the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea and the most western province of Croatia. Istria boasts at least 445 kilometres of rocky coastline, making it a popular holiday spot for sun worshippers! The towns of Pula, Poreč and Umag are the most noteworthy tourist destinations. Istria has a pristine natural landscape with lakes and waterfalls, a rich centuries-old culture and hospitable people.
The seaside resort of Poreč (12,000 inhabitants) is situated on the west coast of Istria, about 60 kilometres from Trieste (IT). Thanks to its ideal location on the Adriatic, the Mediterranean climate, the impressive monuments in the attractive centre and the beautiful promenade, the city has grown into a famous tourist attraction. Despite its popularity, Porec has remained a friendly city with restaurants and cafés around the old harbour.
The two closest airports to Porec (or Parenzo in Italian) are Trieste International Airport (TRS) in Italy, or Pula International Airport (PUY) in Croatia. Both are served by low-cost airline Ryanair, and a variety of other carriers.
Another option is to reach Porec either by boat (only in the summer months) or by bus from Italy. A boat from Venice connects Porec daily in the months between April and September, and numerous buses stop in the city on their way from Italy to Eastern European countries.
